Hi friends!! I arrived safely in København and have been loving living with my new host family! Here are a couple highlights from the first few days, which involved some great cooking, a fantastic trip on Sunday to Hillerød, and a new board game!

I also was very happy because I was able to have one of my favorite American breakfasts, pictured below! It’s wonderful to try all the new foods in Denmark, but it is super great to be able to eat what I do in the US as well.

On Sunday, we took a trip to Hillerød, about thirty minutes away by car, to see Frederiksborg Castle and eat ice cream! While I ate the ice cream too fast to take a picture, I was able to get some great photos of the castle.
Danish castles always seem like they are right out of a fairytale and I’m so thrilled to be seeing them again.
Finally, I was introduced to an awesome new board game. While I may not have understood the concept at first (and still haven’t one), hopefully soon I will emerge victoriously! As for now, my host brothers have the bragging rights but I’m not expecting that to last for too long.
That’s it for now! Stay tuned for the next post soon, featuring the first days with my new DIS friends, specifically those in my new housing network. We’ve done a lot of exploring, with one of my favorite times being when we got to the top of a tower! As always, follow the blog, sign up for email alerts, and/or stay in touch! Much love to you all and vi ses til neste gang!
